Isoniazid is mainly used for various types of tuberculosis, but also for tuberculous meningitis and other extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Often used in conjunction with other anti-tuberculosis drugs.
Isoniazid is the drug of choice for high-efficiency, low-toxic, and inexpensive anti-tuberculosis, and is also used as an intermediate in electroplating additives and pharmaceuticals. Isoniazid methanesulfonic acid can be obtained by condensing Isoniazid with sodium formaldehyde bisulfite. Combined with formaldehyde to synthesize double Isoniazid. This condensation reaction is easier to carry out, and formaldehyde is added to the Isoniazid aqueous solution and reacted at about 65 ° C for half an hour. The condensation of Isoniazid with vanillic acid is also carried out in an aqueous solution at a reaction temperature of about 95 ° C to form isoniazid. These Isoniazid derivatives are anti-tuberculosis drugs. Isoniazid has the best effect of Isoniazid. Isoniazid has a weaker effect on tubercle bacillus than isoniazid, but it is less toxic to Isoniazid than nervous system and liver.
Isoniazid is highly selective for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and has strong antibacterial activity. It can inhibit bacteria in the concentration of 0.025~0.05mg/L in the test tube, and the higher concentration has bactericidal effect on the bacteria in the breeding period.
