Description:Dissolve 10.5g(0.0mo1) citric acid in 100mL distilled water, add 6.1g(0.075mo1) zinc oxide in batches, and heat and stir in a water bath at 60 ~ 80℃ for 2h. Filter the filtrate hot and reduce the pressure to 1/3 of its original volume. Add 10mL 95% ethanol at room temperature. It is allowed to crystallize for 6h and is filtered, washed and vacuum-dried to produce white powder of 14.8g of Zinc citrate product with a yield of 96.2% and purity of 99.6%.
Zinc citrate is used to treat growth retardation, protein-energy malnutrition (malnutrition), anorexia, pica, etc.
Zinc citrate is also used in food, solid drinks, dairy products, baby food, salt, toothpaste and health care products.
