Product name:Phosphoglucose isomerase
CAS:9001-41-6
Specification:1ku
Description:
Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase, (alternatively known as phosphoglucose isomerase or phosphohexose isomerase), is an enzyme (EC 5.3.1.9) that catalyzes the conversion of glucose-6-phosphate into fructose 6-phosphate in the second step of glycolysis. It should not be confused with 'glucose isomerase', which is actually a common name for D-xylose isomerase (EC 5.3.1.5) in the high-fructose corn syrup industry.
The human variant of this enzyme is encoded by the GPI gene.
