Description:
Sodium salicylate is white scale or powder. Soluble in water (1:0.8, 25℃) and glycerin (1:5 ℃), soluble in 95% ethanol (1:11 ℃), almost insoluble in ether, chloroform and benzene. The aqueous solution was slightly acidic (pH5-6). Pink in the dewy light. No odor or microstrip special odor, sweet and uncomfortable taste.
The salicylic acid and sodium bicarbonate were added to the distilled water, and the temperature was maintained at 60℃ and the acid state was maintained. At the same time, appropriate amount of EDTA and insurance powder were added. Heat up to 85℃, reaction for half an hour. Qualified reaction solution was filtered into the boiling bed and dried at 85℃ to get Sodium salicylate.
Sodium salicylate is used for trace analysis of uranium dioxide and organic synthesis. It is also used as a preservative.
