Description:Sorbitan monopalmitate is a creamy white to light brown waxy solid with a slightly fatty odor. Melting point of 45 ℃. Disperse in hot water and dissolve in hot oil. Stable at room temperature in different pH values and electrolyte solutions. The HLB value is 6.7.
Sorbitan monopalmitate production method: put 1 mol Sorbitan monopalmitate into the reaction kettle, open vacuum and dehydrate at 75 ~ 80℃, until the kettle turns up the small bubbles. 1 mol palmitic acid was melted and pressed into dehydrated sorbitan anhydride. 50% alkali solution was added with 1 kg under agitation. Let it cool overnight, remove the bottom coking, add appropriate amount of hydrogen peroxide in the stirring decolorization, finally rise to 80 ~ 90℃, stir while hot, cool the package to get Sorbitan monopalmitate.
