Description:Vitamin A, also known as retinol, is A Vitamin derivative. Vitamin A is A fat-soluble Vitamin. There are vitamin A1 and vitamin A2. Vitamin A is necessary for certain metabolic processes, especially biochemical processes of vision.
Vitamin A has good thermal stability, but is easily oxidized in the air, which is more easily damaged by ultraviolet rays. There are four isomers of vitamin A, the main naturally occurring vitamin A, with side-chain double bonds that are both trans (maximum uv absorption 325 nm) and new vitamin A (maximum uv absorption 328 nm). Vitamin A is susceptible to air oxidation, can be rapidly decomposed by oxygen, thermal instability, antimony trichloride appears blue (maximum absorption 620 nanometers). In addition to the methods of ultraviolet absorption and the above mentioned chromic reaction, there are biological methods for the identification of vitamin A and A2, such as recovery of cornea changes and growth recovery ability in mice with A deficiency.
Vitamin A deficiency can cause night blindness, xerophth-almia, keratomalacia, and stunting the growth of young animals.
The physiological effects of vitamin A are generally related to the omentum and other tissues and organs. In the retina, A form of vitamin A aldehyde, known as retinaldehyde, binds with retinal protein to form rhodopsin, which is associated with vision. In other organs, it is involved in the biosynthesis of mucopolysaccharides as retinoic acid (retinic acid), maintaining the function of epithelial cells, cartilage and biofilms.
Vitamin A promotes growth, prolongs life, and protects vision and epithelial cells. Vitamin A promotes growth and development, which is particularly important for infants and young children. Vitamin A deficiency, growth stagnation, night blindness, dry eye disease and other diseases.
