Cautions for using econazole nitrate

Econazole nitrate was prepared from trichloroacetophenone by reduction, imidazolization and substitution of p-chlorobenzyl for benzoconazole. Finally, econazole nitrate was obtained by salt formation with nitric acid.

Notes for using Econazole nitrate:

1. Econazole nitrate is for external use only to avoid contact with eyes.

2. To avoid recurrence, the course of treatment for cutaneous candidiasis and various tinea is at least 2 weeks, and that of tinea pedis is at least 4 weeks.

3. When treating candidiasis, avoid local close covering dressing.

4. No long-term large-scale use shall be allowed.

Adverse reactions to Econazole nitrate:

1. Local irritation symptoms, such as itching and burning sensation;

2. Occasionally erythema and blisters, how short and mild.
