Description:Histamine dihydrochloride is used for sustained remission and to prevent recurrence after initial remission therapy in adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The drug reduces the production of oxygens by autophagocytes, inhibits nicotinamide adenine dinucleoside phosphooxidase and prevents interleukin-2 from activating NK and T cells. The histamine dihydrochloride injection was approved on the basis that its complete response with interleukin-2 significantly reduced recurrence of AML in patients.
